Colin Mattinson, Wayne Coombs and Neil Biggs rode the premier event of the day.
With the group splitting early on Mattinson got away with 2 riders later to be joined by a fourth creating a strong group. The windy conditions made life hard in the break and one rider was unable to keep up.
This left three to fight out the finish where Mattinson was looking for the win. In a tight finale he was just edged out in a long sprint.
As the bunch behind fragmented the others did well to mix it at the front in smaller chase groups securing two top 15s.
Stuart Hopkins, Ian Packer, Steve Hill, Simon Willis and Chris Harrison all made the start of the second event.
An early break of two was eventually to prove successful as the bunch hesitated behind in the initial stages.
During the second half the team were keen to force the pace and split the race. After several attempts Hopkins managed to get clear of the bunch. A lap later Packer and Hill attacked together bridging across to Hopkins.
The three chased hard but were unable to catch the two leaders who's lead was reduced to 30 seconds at the finish. Willis claimed 4th in the bunch sprint.
