The first weekend in February saw 8 of the team ride out to Ystradgynlais near Swansea in Wales.

Going via Ross-on-Wye, Skenfrith, Abergavenny and Brecon the group covered almost 100 miles in the first day. It was a cold bright day with some wind though the heavens opened on the final climb over the Black Mountains. A tough finish to a long day in the saddle.

The evening was interesting following Wales's comeback over England in the Six Nations Rugby where the team had to endure some terrible singing by the locals! A good meal in a local restaurant and plenty of wine helped the recovery of sore legs.

The ride back was very lumpy and riding mostly around 1000ft for the first 30 miles the elements made life difficult. Once back to Abergavenny though the road to Monmouth was pleasently quiet though full of many short sharp climbs. Once there the group headed through the Forest of Dean via Mitcheldean before the flat run in back to Cheltenham covering almost 90 miles.

The team had a following car with plenty of supplies to keep them going on what was a successful and enjoyable weekend.
