Sun 6th July: Stage 6

This stage was all about the last climb to the finish - a 4km brute!.

A breakaway managed to escape but the bunch wouldn't let them go far.
Biggs worked hard and was kept close to the best climbers for over half the climb but struggled as the pace went up as they tried to catch the lead group just ahead. He kept plugging away as did Green and thanks to encouragement from the team at the finish found some extra energy to go past 2 riders at the finish and take 10th.

Sat 5th July: Stage 5

A tough stage and just as bad as last year with awful conditions. Neil Biggs managed to get in a break the 2nd time up the climb with half the race to go. He worked hard and pulled back the break already 3 mins up the road in just one lap.
On catching the lead group Cwmcarn blocked the break well to stop them working though Tim Wallis eventually attacked from the group and gained 1 minute with another rider.

Biggs started to suffer in the last 5k and really needed some extra food. He lost contact with the front group on the climb to the finish but hung on for a well deserved 9th, 2:05 up on the bunch behind led in by  Nicole Cooke. Green finished in this group maintaining his position on the overall and the effort by Biggs moved him up to 11th - a great position with another mountain stage to come.

Fri 4th July: Stage 4

Kurt Green continued is great form by instigating the break in todays road stage. Attacking when the bunch seemingly wanted to have an easy day after the tough stage yesterday he quickly built up a advantage of over a minute. This spured others into action and Green was later joined by four more riders.

As the stage neared the finale the tension was high with the bunch still chasing hard behind. As it was Green paid for his earlier efforts finishing 5th but more importantly pulled back around 30 seconds on the rest of the field.

Results to come...

Thu 3rd July: Team Time Trial (Stage 3)

The team did a sterling effort today in the continued blustry conditions to record a time of 31:56 on the 14 mile course.

1. Cwmcarn Paragon 30.05
10. VC Montpellier +1.51

1. Richard Harris (Cwmcarn Paragon) 3:00:12

Thu 3rd July: Stage 2

A small break escaped the bunch after the last climb and managed to stay away in blustry conditions to the finish. The tough course whittled the race down to 40 riders who contested the bunch sprint. Kurt Green was near the front and placed 13th with Biggs also present.

Cleaver and Willis finished in separate groups not far behind.

Wed 2nd July: Prolog (Stage 1)

All the team got round comfortably with Kurt Green showing his well tuned time trialing skills to place 26th against some respectable opponents.

28. Kurt Green @ 1:11
39. Neil Biggs @ 1:28
47. Richard Cleaver @ 1:38
